3 ways to take eyeliner to a whole new level

I feel like there is something you all need to know about me....I'm addicted to eyeliner... like seriously you have no idea. In my makeup bag I'm all about mascara and eyeliner. for me, I like to keep my look simple, with eyeliner and mascara. Sometimes I dabble with Eyeshadow or Foundation but mainly I'm addicted to Black Eyeliner. My current Favorite at Mission beauty Salon & Spa is Stila. Due to my over-powering Love of Stila Eyeliner--the Fashion Guru that I am--I've listed 3 different eyeliner looks that can be created with Stila Products.  These 3 looks will work for anybody because they are completely different from eachother--giving you the choice between a classic, a vintage, and a modern look.

In today's Blog I've included a guide to lining your eyes to perfection from the one and only Sarah Lucero! With over a decade of experience in professional makeup artistry, Sarah Lucero has made a name for herself working in the beauty and fashion industries. Currently serving as Global Director of Education for Stila Cosmetics, Sarah shares her expertise as Spokesperson for the brand. The three looks today were created by this Amazing Woman! I've dedicated today's Blog to her Genius-ness...and am not taking the credit for this advice! All I can say is that I've tried this makeup brand and I LOVE IT!

According to Sarah, Using the right product is important; the liquid liner you have should be a quick-drying and waterproof formula, so smudges are less likely. It should also have a thin tip that tapers slightly at the end, similar to a fine point sharpie marker. The color should be rich, inky, and very intense. If the product comes out looking like watercolor, it's time to go makeup shopping! And lucky for you ladies out there, Mission Beauty Salon & Spa fulfills the need...and lets not fib--the addiction to makeup!

When it comes to applying eyeliner, you have to be fearless. Just GO FOR IT! Don't hesitate or you will for sure make a mistake. Look at magazines and try to re create a beauty look on yourself with the liquid liner.
Pointed q tips are a must! A great trick is to dip a pointed q tip into your eye cream and use that to remove or fix an unwanted smudge. Use the point to sharpen up the corners and create the perfect angle to enhance your eyes. First, trace the upper lashes with an eye pencil or a damp liner brush dipped in shadow, getting as close to the lashes as possible. Once you've got the perfect line, trace over it with a liquid formula. To keep your hand steady, rest your elbow on a table and keep a light grip on the brush.

Bombshell Bardot Beauty: Be Bold.

1. Before you begin, apply a neutral matte eyeshadow over lids, to create a blank canvas. The cat eye is the most essential part of the Bombshell Bardot Look. Apply a thin line of black liquid liner beginning from the inside corner of the eye all along your upper lash line. Make sure you're as close to the lash line as possible. When you reach the outer corner of your eye, bring the eyeliner tip upwards as you extend pass the edge of the eye. Be sure to taper the line at the end, thinning the line out as it reaches its end point. You can go over the line a couple times to thicken or add a stronger angle.
2. Use a pencil to line your lower lids. A pencil is easier to apply when you want to line your lower rims. Draw the liner from the inside corner to the edge of your lower rims at the waterline. Kajal Pencil in Onyx is ideal to line inside the waterline and trace the lower lash line. It adds a sultry "worn in" effect to add to your bombshell beauty look. To make eyes appear larger, try lining inside with a flesh tone pencil like Stila Kajal liner in topaz.
3. Appling several coats of black mascara will help further emphasize your cat eye. Focus layering mascara on the top lash line. If you wear false lashes, apply mascara over your false lashes. I prefer to use Stila Glamoureyes Mascara. It creates the look of false lashes but without the fuss.

Structured Cat Eye: Be Sultry.
To create this look use Black Smudge Pot, Major Major Lash Mascara, #20 brush, Kitten Eye Shadow.
1. Stila smudge pot is ideal for this look because it is a long wearing liner and shadow in one. The formula is gel based which means the texture will glide on effortlessly and allows you to achieve a glamorous, sultry smudged look. All you need is a double sided brush from Stila, like #20, to create this trend look on yourself and your client. For a softer effect try wearing Bronze smudge pot to add drama to your everyday beach bronze look.

On the Edge Cat Eye: Be Artsy.
To create this look use Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner, Forever Your Curl Mascara, Stingray smudge stick, Prime pot taffy.

1. When balanced with an otherwise neutral face, black winged liner looks artsy and edgy. Create a smooth, opaque base on lids with prime pot.

2. First use black pencil to draw the winged shape, so you can easily clean up mistakes and make the line look exactly how you want it to.

3. Then trace over the pencil with your stay all day liquid liner to add a patent leather finish as a liner top coat

4. Layer several coats of black mascara on top and bottom lashes, to complete the look.

3 Gorgeous Hairstyles---in less than 15 minutes!

In Today’s Day and Age, Time is Money. For me, I’m always trying to find new ways to look gorgeous, without having to spend an hour or more to make myself that way. From Clothes—to makeup—to hair! But never fear Ladies, I’ve listed 3 Gorgeous Hairstyles that are cute, fast, and easy to give you an amazing look that takes less then 10 minutes to create that work for any look from Nigh to Day! And for us pencil pushers out there, they work great for any office environment that allows you to be professional—but Gorgeous!

Hairstyle #1: Beach Windblow Hairstyle

This look is all about beachy ends and lift at the roots. Spray some volumizer all over your roots and quickly blow-dry aiming a nozzle right at your roots. After towel-drying hair, wet with a beachy salt spray so you get a laidback, undone texture. Flip head over and shake out your hair to distribute and activate the product. And Bam! You’ve created a simple, sexy look in under 15 minutes!

To create this look I would recommend the use of these products:

GloEssentials Boost Hair Volumizer: Creates gravity-defying volume and bounce. Hair is plumped at the root and thickened throughout for luxurious body. Volumizing extracts support the hair and help retain fullness that lasts all day. Suitable for all hair types, especially for fine or thin hair.

Alterna Bamboo Shine Luminous Shine Spray: Weightless finishing mist polishes any hair type with sheer, mirror-like shine. Eliminates frizz and flyaways. Color Hold® technology provides color retention.

Hairstyle # 2: Greek Godess Hairstyle

The half updos are one of the most simple looks to choose. All you need is a couple of bobby pins. If you have fine hair, get some styling mousse and smoothly tease your hair. Than separate the side parts of your hair, twist them trough the back and pin them into a secure style. You can also get some boho braids on the sides, and if you want to make it even more sophisticated, make a side parting, braid olnly this part of your hair and pin the sides to the back. It is quick and easy to make, yet appropriate for school, casual days, or even formal occasions

To create this look I would recommend the use of these products:

Brocato Mousse Volumizing Foam: A rich, lathery mousse that creates visual texture, spectacular shine and firm, yet moveable hold. Shampoo and condition hair with a Brocato regimen of choice. Towel dry hair and apply mousse as needed. It's an exceptional volumizer with a powerful hold.
Hairstyle # 3: Quick Messy Updo
The quick messy updos are really easy to style, and provide a very chic look. You can make ultra feminine hairstyles with the less effort and time that anyone would think of. To create this glamorous look, you'll need some styling mousse, bobby pins, some hairspray and a headband to accessorize it.

Get the volumizing mousse in your hair and a start teasing it in the back part. Than take large strands, twist them together and start pinning them in the lower part of your head. Try to avoid any order in making your bun, to make sure it will be really messy. Fix it with a hairspray and apply the headband. For a formal occasion, simply opt for a jeweled headband and your elegant look is ready to charm. This hairstyle is even more easy to get if you have curly hairstyle.
To create this look I would recommend the use of these products:
For this look if you already have curly hair, it will be simple and you can also use the Product I recommended in the previous hairstyle:
Brocato Mousse Volumizing Foam: A rich, lathery mousse that creates visual texture, spectacular shine and firm, yet moveable hold. Shampoo and condition hair with a Brocato regimen of choice. Towel dry hair and apply mousse as needed. It's an exceptional volumizer with a powerful hold.
BUT, if you have really straight hair and you need some help creating curl, I would recommend these products:
Moroccan Oil Curl Define Cream: Moroccanoil Curl Define Cream is formulated for naturallycurly and wavy hair with an advanced technology that offers intense conditioning and detangling properties. Curl Define Cream delivers exceptional movement to hair while enhancing natural curls and offering optimal hold, adding volume, control and shine as well as providing humidity resistance.
Moroccan Oil Curl Control Mousse: Works well with the Moroccan Oil curl Defining Cream Eliminates frizz, and also helps shape, and control hair and create texture.

All these great products and more can be found at Mission Beauty Salon & Spa.

Pretty in Pink

As Valentine's Day gets closer,  the Theme for this month is love--You can just feel it sizzle in the air! So to get into the spirit, try being Pretty in Pink this month and spread the Love! That's right as in Pink Shadow--Pink Blush--and kissably Pink Lips<3

The trick to pulling off an all pink look, is to go with varying shades of pink, so your look does not look flat and don't forget boring! a great combo would be a carnation pink for the eyes, a fuschia on your lips, and a subtle pink to make your cheeks glow!

If all pink is just to much pink for your skin tone, you can break it up by adding a different shade on your eyes pairing pink with a purple, blue, green or ever a charcoal hue! A general rule of thumb when picking which pink looks best on you--If your skin tone is lighter you will look amazing in soft pink, or if your complexion is darker vivid colors are for you.

And the Great News is At Mission Beauty Salon & Spa we have many different makeup lines and products in a variety of pink shades!

Eyes-- Mirabella Eye Colour offers an alluring array of intense shimmer, sheen and matte pressed mineral eye shadows. Available in 36 shades. Luckily for us Girls, they have  a wide variety of pinks!

Lips-- Get a high-volume smile with the GloLip Plumper by GloMinerals. An exclusive formulation of Marine Collagen Atelocollagen sphere technology, lip-stimulating Capsicum Extract and conditioning Safflower Oil. To give you the kissable-pink shade that you desire!

Cheek-- Nothing is as classically feminine as a cheek with a healthy glow. Colorescience Pro’s Mineral Blush Powder works gracefully with your skin and foundation to add just that hint of gorgeous, natural colore.  The result is a long lasting, natural looking colore that seems to come from within.
Just because you choose to be all pink, doesn't mean you are stuck with a bland look,  as you can see when you think pink--the options available to you are endless. If you liked what you saw, and want more Pink in your life, Visit Mission Beauty Salon & Spa tp be Pretty in Pink!

How to apply Eye Makeup like a Pro

Makeup is Complicated. There are millions of makeup products out in the world with thousands of purposes. As a girl, your introduction to the makeup world is a treacherous journey, to master the art of applying makeup. I shudder to think how I looked when I first attempted to apply makeup. The part I’ve always struggled with is eye makeup, it’s the most difficult. So many things can go wrong when applying products to the eyes. But once you master the basics in eye makeup, the simplest looks can turn out to be the most stunning.

For me, eye makeup was, and still is a complicated matter. So for this blog, I’ve ventured out of my comfort zone to discover tips to help polish my makeup applying skills.

These Eye Makeup Tips will help your own quest to have flawless-looking eye makeup for both day and night, and formal and casual occasions.

We all have to start somewhere, and the first step in applying makeup is eye shadows! First, you must apply a primer to serve as the base for the eye shadows and for the rest of the makeup products.

A great Primer I would recommend is the Lid Primer by Jane Iredale. Ever wonder how you can keep eye shadows from creasing on oily lids, or how you can get more life and longer wear out of your favorite color? The Lid Primer by Jane Iredale also doubles as a shadow that can be applied with a finger to make the eye look moist and shimmery. It adds a subtle highlight to the lid, and can be worn alone or with shadows on top. Next, you choose what color you’d like! A great tip to remember that eye color is supposed to add depth to your eyes, and make them appear more open. There is such a thing as too much color, or to dark of a shade.

If you are unsure of which colors complement you, a great help is to go by colors that combine well with the color of your eyes.
  • Blue eyes are complemented by violet, deep blue, purple, grey and taupe.
  • Green and Hazel eyes look best in apricot, purple, plum, brown and green.
  • Brown eyes can be highlighted by copper, champagne, bronze and green shades.
Once you find the colors that complement you, you apply the eyeshadow as directed below:

  1. Apply base colour on the upper eyelid. To avoid a clownish look, don’t bring it close to the nose or all the way up to the eyebrows.
  2. Put contour colour along the lashes and in the crease. Add more colour to the outside corner of your eyes, connecting together the lines along the lashes and in the crease.
  3. Use highlight colour in the area under the brow and in the inside corner of your eye.
  4. Accent colour is applied on the mobile lid right above your iris.
The next step to our journey for beautiful eyes is the eyeliner. I personally am addicted to eyeliner. Eyeliner adds the oomph to the polished look provided by the right application of the eye shadow. A general rule is to draw one continuous line on the lower lid and then follow with another line on the upper lid. A great tip, start for the inner going to the outer corner for a cleaner finish.

A Great eyeliner that gives a clean line, is Eyeliner by Blinc. Formerly known as Kiss Me, Blinc is the original eyeliner invented to form a water-resistant "layer of color" that contours your eyes. Since Blinc is not a cosmetic paint like conventional eyeliners, it cannot fade, smudge, run or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes. The intense layer of color creates a dramatic look that lasts all day. Only when you are ready for removal, the layer of color will effortlessly slide off your skin into your hand without the use of a harsh makeup remover. It's better than waterproof! Ideal for those with sensitive eyes, contact lens wearers, and active people in search of an eyeliner whose look, hold and ease of removal is without compromise.

And finally the mascara, Last but certainly not the least, applying mascara for more definition, and to add that last bit of polish to your look. Before applying mascara, it is always good to curl your lashes for longer-looking lashes. And voila! Your eye makeup is perfect!

Speaking of perfect, the Perfect Mascara I would recommend would be the Treatment Mascara Duo by Brenda Christian. This Double-ended miracle Mascara conditions eyelashes; actually plumping them from the inside out with special Panthenol filled eyelash primer and mascara. Plastic surgeons recommend Treatment Mascara Duo because it is easy to remove and allows gentle removal with any facial cleanser. Highly water-resistant, contact lens wearers prefer Treatment Mascara Duo because it doesn’t flake or smear into the eyes.

With these tips, your mission to perfect eye makeup should be complete. If you were like me  I hope these tips, helped add polish to your application skills. And if your already a Pro, I hope you learned something new, or found inspiration! All these Products I've mentioned and More, can be found at Mission Beauty Salon & Spa.

The most important thing to worry about is your skin, especially in Winter Time. How to look more Romantic for Valentine's Day

Every woman has a certain style to how she does her makeup and her hair, even down to the way she dresses. Some women go for the soft, girlish look. While others go for the serious no-nonsense look. If you want a look that is soft, and romantic this year I have some how-to's that you can use to bring that Valentine's Day Glow to your everyday look. And with Valentine's Day just around the corner, it doesn't hurt to add some romance to your look for V-Day.

Let your eyes do the talking
Less Eye make-up gives you a fresh, youthfulness to your look. I know many of you are screaming out there, since you're addicted to eye liner like I am. (Remember we are trying for a soft, romantic look) This way your eyes can do all the talking and your eyes will look bright and open. You’ll need an eyelash curler for maximum effect, and a couple of coats of your favorite mascara to complete the look.

A great product that ensures long, curling lashes is the Heated Lash Curler by Blinc. Blinc's Heated Lash Curler is simple-to-use and easily shapes lashes in seconds, with extravagant, long-lasting curves. Blinc Lash Curler works without clamping or using excessive pressure making it safer and not damaging to your lashes. Nothing sets a curl better than heat...after all, that's how we curl the hair on our heads! It's the same for your lashes. Not only is it safer, heated curls last longer than pressure curls.

Get that “you’re making me blush” look to last all day
A natural flush, is the ultimate feminine look, that makes the boys go Ga-Ga. An easy way to pick the right blush is to pinch your cheeks, the goal is to find a colour that matches your natural flush. Look for a cream base to blend on the apples of your cheeks and dab on the tip of your nose. The outcome gives you a dewy and fresh-faced, look.

A great cream blush to try would be, the In Touch Cream Blush by Jane Iredale. Sweep the creamy blush stick over your cheeks for a flush that's soft, dewy and natural. It goes on like butter and smells deliciously of pure cocoa powder. You can even try it on your lips, too, for a pulled-together look that stays all day!

Simple lips look more kissable
When you think of Valentine's Day, we think of red, and pink. Of course we all love a killer red, but such a dramtic color does not scream I'm a soft, romantic kind-of girl (which is the goal). For a more romantic pout, try a lip balm. Added with that flush to your cheeks, it gives off the Just been kissed look. It’s totally easy and you can still get that killer colour that you love.

An amazing lip balm is the Citrus Lip Balm by Eminence. The Citrus Lip Balm contains moisturizing shea butter, vitamin-rich sunflower seed oil, protecting beeswax, exfoliating papaya and pineapple, and paprika, which increases blood flow and causes the lips to become full and plump. Rough, chapped texture is smoothed, collagen production is increased and essential nutrients and moisturizers provide long-lasting protection with a silky finish.
Less shimmer let’s you shine more
Sometimes an illuminator can brighten you up just a little too much, keep it light and subtle. Add just a hint on your cheekbones and under your brows to get a healthy, youthful freshness. For a nutural beauty, what can be more seductive than that?

I highly recommend the Illuminate Pure Finish by Mirabella. This Loose mineral powder creates a refined finish, adding subtle sheen to skin while creating a luminous, soft glow. Use it anywhere: skin, eyes, lips and body.

Whatever look you're going for, these great products and more can be found online at Mission Beauty Salon & Spa.

Packed with botanicals, the stain actually soothes and pampers lips for comfortable, buildable coverage without feathering or drying. If this color is just too bold for you, I’d recommend Reckless Colour Shine by Mirabella. Ultra-shine lip gloss in a wide range of beautifully bright shades. Moisturizing and conditioning formula infused with Vitamin C, Vitamin E and peppermint leaves lips hydrated and refreshed.

Maximize Your Lashes
If you want long luxurious lashes that look so good they are borderline falsies try Outrageous Lashes Mineral Lengthening Mascara by Youngblood. The exclusively designed brush allows for smooth, even application while it lifts and separates each lash from root to tip. Keeps lashes strong and flexible with amino acids, vitamins and botanicals. Long-wearing, non-flaking and smudge-proof.

Pump up the Volume
Make a statement this V-day with your hair! Beef up those wimpy strands with Get a Lift Volumizing Spray by Michael O'Rourke. This is a powerful lifting system that penetrates the entire hair and adds volume from roots to ends. This revolutionary pump spray can also be used on dry hair to revitalize your style and revive limp hair between shampoos.

Spritz a Sensual Scent
Choose an ultra-romantic scent to wrap the look up! Remember to spray fragrance on your pulse points (wrists, inner elbows, behind the ears, etc.) for maximum effect!

Hopefully these simple tips will ensure that you look beautiful this V-day whether your cuddling up to hubbie, or on the prowl with your girls. These great products I mentioned can be found at Mission Beauty Salon & Spa.
